Are there anyway to clear your toenails fingernail after they turn dark or gets dark streaks..?

When you nails turn different colors is it permanent...are there ways to clear your nails...some say the results of dark colored nails come from medication side effects but I don't take medicine could i be that it runs in my family. Are there anyway to clear your toenails fingernail after they turn dark or gets dark streaks..?
That is a disease, caused by a fungus, Tinea Unguium (sorry, I know only the latin name). I presume they have also grown thick too? There you go. It can be treated, no problem, but the treatment might take a while - complete, 6 months... It ';runs'; in your family because you have happened to share the same shoes. Please see a dermatologist, they are the most qualified to help you.

Untreated, it is not dangerous (except for the aspect) but it is a gateway for possible bacterial infections that might prove very damaging to your feet. It is related to the disease known as the athlete's foot.

PS: It's not melanoma. You do not have melanin-producing cells in your nail-tissue...Are there anyway to clear your toenails fingernail after they turn dark or gets dark streaks..?
Bob Marley died from subungual melanoma of a toe. Melanoma CAN and DOES grow on the nail bed and/or the nail matrix producing a brown or black vertical streak as melanin is deposited into the growing nail by the cancerous melanocytes. Search for pictures of subungual melanoma. See a dermatologist.

And Tinea Unguium is Latin for nail fungus...

discolored nails can be caused by fungus...if it's not a fungus soaking your feet in epsom salts will help
Get yourself to a dermatologist immediately. Although there are other conditions that can cause that, it could also be melanoma, a deadly skin cancer. If I am causing you alarm, I hope it is needless alarm but it's up to you to find out, and don't waste any time.

Paul C, if it were melanoma it would be in the skin under the nail, not the nail itself. I have seen a picture of melanoma under the nail and it looked similar to melanonychia, which is a non-fungal darkening of the nail. It (melanonychia) is caused by increased melanocytes usually within the nail matrix. It seems more common in people from India.

Tinea Unguium is ringworm of the nail.

Bob Marley died from a melanoma on his toe and for some reason I am thinking that I read that it was under the nail.
um, you might try to soak them in hydrogen peroxide or soak in lemon juice... do you wear a lot of nail polish... this could turn nails different colors... if not, press on nail and see if nail bed turns white then back to pink... if not, you may have a nail fungus.. hard to get rid of, there are otc stuff, but dr would be best.
