Can you cut a dog's nails with regular fingernail clippers?

I want to clip my dog's nails so she can stop cutting meCan you cut a dog's nails with regular fingernail clippers?
No, their nails are way to hard and the opening is not large enough to accommodate the dog's nail. Buy some clippers that are made for dogs or get a dremel. you can buy either from a pet supply store or online. Can you cut a dog's nails with regular fingernail clippers?
no you might hurt the dog and try using softpaws
you probley can depeands on the thickness but u can also go to a pet store and buy clippers for no more than 7 dollars
No - a dog's nails are totally differently shaped. You need to get yourself some good dog nail clippers and regularly clip your dog's nails. If you don't know how, let a vet tech at your vet office show you the first time - you need to be careful not to cut the quick.
Uh, no.

And FYI, clipping them only makes them sharper. If you want her nails to stop cutting you then after you trim them (with a nail trimmer made for dogs) take her for long walks on a sidewalk. Her nails will file themselves down to a not-so-sharp tip.
You can but I would suggest using big ones! If the clippers are to small you could mess up and accidentally hurt the dog...Its best to just use dog clippers.
No. Fingernail clippers are designed for a flat nail. A dogs nail is round and requires a round clipper. They can be picked up at K-Mart, Wal-Mart, or any pet store.
a pair of dog clipper like say wal-mart are under 5 dollars... they would be the best way to go...using human finger nail clippers.

could split the dogs nail and hurt the dog..or tear it...

Our kids show dogs in 4-h and they need their nails trimmed on a regular bases and we use dog clippers..they are cheap...easy to use..and they don't hurt the dog..
Go to the pet store and buy a pair of dog nail clippers. Human ones were not made or designed for dog nails. If you don't want to do that, spend the money and take her to the vet and get them to do it for you.
