How can I remove ultraviolet or black light pen ink (sometimes called ';invisible ink';) from my fingernail?

I've tried acetone/paint remover with a nail file but it didn't seem to do anything substantial..any tips much appreciated! How can I remove ultraviolet or black light pen ink (sometimes called ';invisible ink';) from my fingernail?
Since we don't know what the chemical is in the ink, all you can do is try different things. Acetone was a good guess. I would also try soaking my nail in a solution of laundry bleach in water. Dilute it to half strength or less.

Let your finger soak a long time, keep an eye on it for fading of the glow and for skin irritation.

I think what happened is the ink soaked into the fingernail because it is a bit porous. That's why a solvent like acetone isn't taking it off. Because the solvent can get into the nail also, it probably made it go deeper.

I'm hoping the chlorine in the bleach will diffuse into the nail and bleach the ink so it does not glow any more. It will still be there until the nail grows out completely, you just won't see it anymore. Watch for any other discoloration of the nail by the bleach such as whitening or a green tint. Stop soaking if you see discoloration.

Worst case, your nail will glow until it grows out. At a growth rate of about 3 mm per month, you can calculate how many months it will take. Good luck.

I read that it does help nail fungus. I use peroxide for cleaning my kitchen countertops. Kills bacteria that accumulate or are left behind.

This can be caused by stress or poor diet or a combination of both, or by some other deficiency in your bodies nutrition processing capabilities.PurNail
