I am in desperate need of some advice. Just recently I noticed that my index finger is kinda yellow and I has small little bumps on the right side of the nail. I don't know how to treat it because I heard that over the counter medicine was bad for you liver but also that creams and stuff doesnt work either. Please tell me what worked and how you got it.
Thanks so much! %26lt;3What do i do about my fingernail fungus?
Onychomycosis is fungal infection of the nail plate, nail bed, or both.
Over-the-counter creams and ointments generally do not help treat this condition.
Prescription antifungal medicines taken by mouth may help clear the fungus in about 50% of patients. However, such medicines can cause side effects or may interfere with other medications. Some of the oral medications used to treat fungal infections of the nail can harm the liver.
In some cases, the health care provider may remove the nail. Nails grow slowly. Even if treatment is successful, a new, clearer nail may take up to a year to grow in.What do i do about my fingernail fungus?
Get a bowl and put for example 1 cup water and 1 cup with vinegar. the solution has to be 50% and 50%. Leave it soaking for 30 minutes for 3 times a day. you can also put 2 drops of vinegar on ur nail. but make sure that the vinegar stays there for at least 30 mins. the fungus will disappear because vinegar kills. and be sure you dry ur funger nail really good
Over the counters creams sometimes work if its a really good one. and dont make damage to the liver.the opi brand has a really good one for fungus.
Goodluck xx
u'd need antibiotics along with topical ointments for treatment. I'd rather refrain from self treatment see a doc. He'll be able to suggest the best treatment while being careful of not producing significant side effects.
I hope u have cut ur nails short. do not scratch ur body or put ur fingers in ur eyes/ mouth.
Go to this site. It should help you . You can also ask questions to the author. I hope it helps!
Pop along to your doctor and get the correct treatment for your nail, and stop listening to old wives tales.
that sounds like a WART go and get some FREEZE OFF it worked for me and my liver is fine....good luck

Whats's the best way to get rid of baby's fingernail scratches on her neck?
My baby has scratched her neck pretty bad and it looks more like a rash then a rash then a scratch, but there are a few broken blood vessels. Whats the best rememdy to cut down on the redness of it?Whats's the best way to get rid of baby's fingernail scratches on her neck?
My daughter's pediatrician told me to put Aquaphor on any dry or rashy areas that she may have, whether it be on the face or anywhere else. It is expensive but for my baby, it worked.Whats's the best way to get rid of baby's fingernail scratches on her neck?
I would consult your babies pediatrician before applying anything to the rashes/scratches, just to make sure.
But you could use aquaphor
To prevent this (cause my son used to be a forehead scratcher when he was a baby, especially when he got really tired and cranky), every other day or so, clip your baby's nails. or use those mittens. I used the mittens on my son for about a month or two. but i was clipping his nails about every two days (his grew really fast lol)
Cut your child's nails. Other than that it is just going to take time. Make sure when you bath your child you dry his/her neck very well and put a little bit of baby powder on it. If it is a rash you want to keep it as clean as possible.
Broken blood vessels?
Usually when my daughter scratches her face we don't put anything in it and it goes away on its own within 1-2 days.
Broken blood vessels sounds pretty serious...
Keep the nails cut and you won't have this problem.
just put a topical antibiotic ointment such as neosporion it and let it heal on it's own. Don't pick at it or anything.
Good Luck %26amp; God Bless!

How do you get fingernail polish off of a tile floor?
non acetone fingernail polish removerHow do you get fingernail polish off of a tile floor?
pick at it just like ya' do when it's on your fingernails.
Kiddin' kiddin'
What type of tiles are they?
Glazed Ceramic? easy, fingernail polish remover then wipe off the still wet residue
Terra Cotta? That's a little trickier as the polish has more than likely soaked into the clay unless it too has a finish on it. Try the nail polish remover, but beware of making the stain larger than what it allready might be...otherwise no smearing! How do you get fingernail polish off of a tile floor?
You don't. There was some on the bathroom floor when I moved in. I've lived here 7 years, it's still there. You could try nail polish remover but only if you can chance damaging the finish.
with fingernail polish remover . Just use a little, and rub it off.

Gouge out of my fingernail, what can I do, painful?
I was cleaning an apartment yesterday and was scrubbing some paint off the bottom of the patio door and my fingernail caught on a staple that was in the carpet. It took a piece of my nail out in the middle of my fingernail. It's painful and hurts to put any pressure on it. Even to type. Is there anything I can do or put on it to make it less painful?Gouge out of my fingernail, what can I do, painful?
Try putting the neosporin + pain relief on it. It contains lidocane which will help numb it and the neosporin will help keep it clean. I'd also put a bandaid on it while you put the neosporin on it so that it doesn't come off right away.Gouge out of my fingernail, what can I do, painful?
I'd use an antibiotic ointment, and then apply a band-aid to keep even pressure on the nail. But not so tight that your circulation is compromised. If you notice that the finger or nail is getting swollen or hot to the touch or the skin around the nail is becoming redder, it could be signs of an infection, and should be looked at by a doctor in case you need oral antibiotics.
I agree with the neosorin with pain relief. Also you could stick your finger in ice to numb it.

What off the counter medicine is good to treat fingernail fungus?
Believe it or not, Vicks Vapo Rub really works. You will be amazed. What off the counter medicine is good to treat fingernail fungus?
tolnaftate is available over the counterWhat off the counter medicine is good to treat fingernail fungus?
fungi care is good if u use it regularly, but if u stop using it for a couple of weeks the fungus comes back. u may wanna also try reclear AF.
Fingernail fungus is called onychomycosis.
Read about fingernail fungus, and some ways to treat it, at http://www.nail-fungus.org/fingernail-fu鈥?/a>
and

The Mayo Clinic also offers very good information at http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/nail-fu鈥?/a>
Fingernail fungus is difficult to treat. Quite often, topical (on the skin) preparations do not work and an oral antifungal is needed.
You may of course try home remedies (petrolatum jelly, garlic, salt, scalding water {ouch}, rubbing alcohol, lemongrass oil, vinegar, etc.!) but most physicians just roll their eyes when you mention using these. I'm not recommending any of them, but you may want to do some research on your own.

Iron deficency test: Go to the mirror and pull your lower eyelid and see if the color is red or flesh color. If its flesh colored you are lacking enough iron and should take a herbal iron like Floradix. It will take a month to see a difference. Iron carrys oxygen in your blood and if you dont have it you will feel tired, cold hands and feet, headaches, RLS, dull brittle hair, brittle nails, poor sleep, pale skin (see thru), shortness of breath, fatigue, poor concentration, low mood, ringing in the ears, cracks in the corner of the mouth, dizziness, fainting, sore tongue and canker sores oh and pale mucous membranes in lower eyelid.

What will get fingernail polish out of jeans?
i acciedentally spilt fingernail polish on my jeans. : (What will get fingernail polish out of jeans?
Nail Polish remover! What will get fingernail polish out of jeans?
If all above solution fails do some thing else.
Use the same nail polish to draw similar figure in the other leg of your jeans. It may create a new fashion.......
try a carpet cleaner with nail polish remover......i spilt blue on my tan carpet i should know!
I think that fingernail polish and hot water will get the polish out.(try it!)
Nail polish remover, rub harder.
try acetone if not then use more nail polish of different colours and create a new look trust me it will look great dont over kill though
Don't use any water, it can make the left over polish spread on the fabric. I got red nail polish once on a white shirt. Just use nail polish remover. You can try one without acetone, but I think the remover with acetone works better. Apply the acetone on a cotton ball and rub it with a cotton ball on the material until it comes off. It'll take some elbow grease beleive it or not.
Try nail polish remover. :) Try a discreet spot first to make sure it doesn't take the color out of the jeans.
It's there to stay. Mise well try a new fad.
nail polish remover might do the trick,. is the polish darker than the jeans if so, you might have to also use some bleach, but, be careful.

Have you ever cut yourself with your own fingernail?
I hate it when that happens.Have you ever cut yourself with your own fingernail?
Yes and once I accidently scratched my face and so I had a big red cut in the middle of my forehead...Have you ever cut yourself with your own fingernail?
No, I broke a fingernail (hah) while playing tennis because it got caught or whatever in one of the wire things and the racket flew out of my hand and I scratched my face with the broken nail as it flew out.
No, my nails have never been that sharp. I did poke myself with a plastic fork once, lol. I'm not sure how that happened, but the dots left behind were pretty noticeable for a little while.
lol me and my friend wear playing hand cuffs in my 6th grade language arts class and she clamped my wrist i wiggled out and her nail cut me! i still have the scar!
My nails have never been long enough to do anything with the lol I bite my nails constantly...I have stopped for awhile but they still aren't growing much

What to do when you split a fingernail in half?
it's very painful, probably worse than being smashed in the balls with a baseball batWhat to do when you split a fingernail in half?
sand it with a fingernail file and put supper glue on it where it is split. Allow to dry thoroughly and band-aid it. Continue until healedWhat to do when you split a fingernail in half?
The first thing to do is clean it with an antiseptic then all you can do is apply neosporin, cover it and keep it dry. It will take a long time for the nail to grow out so try to keep it trimmed so you don't catch it on something.
Clean it gently two times a day with warm soap and water. I agree, use neosporin and cover all of it, and use a bandaid. Take aspirin for the pain, and within 48 hours, the pain should go away, and it will begin to heal. It may mend itself together, or grow with a ridge in the middle where it was split. Either way, it will grow out to normal.
Just leave it alone. Don't pick at it and try to keep it dry.
I'm not much of a baseball fan though. ;)

Will fingernail polish work on teeth?
I want to paint my teeth green for St. Paddy's.Will fingernail polish work on teeth?
Nail polish is a solvent.
Usually includes:
Acetone - Can lead to liver damage, has toxic fumes. It is not that toxic but it will also damage the muscos in your mouth. Say goodbye to eating anything without pain.
Acentonitrite - has a good amount of toxicity.
So you decide
BTW, instead of nail polish like a dumbass, there are colour capsules available. Just like blood capsules, there are different coloured ones, it stains the teeth, but bit of mouth wash and brushing its gone. I had a blue blood capsule. Just slushed it around my mouth, spit out the rest, and teeth was blue for the rest of the day until i brushed. Will fingernail polish work on teeth?
You could try skipping toothbrushing so they can turn green all by themselves.
Nail polish? In ur mouth??? Wow, I've NEVER heard of that. Don't do it, nail polish is meant to be in your NAILS, not mouth. It's chemicals, and why would you have chemicals in your mouth. And how would you take it off??? And when you eat, you'll swallow some of the polish, making it so into your system. NO WAY, disregard your St. Patrick idea.
Read the label. It's all chemicals. Do you really want to ingest that???
keep it on your fingers!!!!! nail polish could do damage if you digested it..
Trust me, I did the same thing last year and it worked beautifully. After applying the green fingernail polish, keep your mouth open for about 10-15 minutes to air dry. If you swallow a little bit, it won't kill you, don't worry.
Well...finernail oplish is poisenous. Unless you want to die I wouldn't paint them.
ahhh i like the spirit lol, and i suppose it will work just wont taste great
it will but if you swollow it you'll be bad
Do not do it.You can get poisended if you swallow it, youre teeth will get died green and will be eaten up by the acid of the nail polish AND it will look ugly.
=)
It would probably kill you or damage your body....you can buy certain gum at spencers or something and it'll dye your mouth...or suck on green lollypops or candy.
It would work, but is it safe? Dunno. Would it taste like utter **it? YES!!!
But by all means give it a go and let us all know how you get on LLF
NO Doc W
you dont need to do that. how would you remove the fingernail polish swallow a big mouthful of fingernail polish remover and die?
like everyone said..it would be very dangerous...but there's alternatives....like perhaps a green mouth gaurd...i tried to research on other methods..didn't really work

We got my home painted with semi gloss paint 3 days ago. and i can scratch it off with my fingernail still?
we bought some semi gloss paint from home depot and painted the whole interior of the house. but now 3 days later after we painted it, i can still scratch it off with my finger nail preety easily. so i dont know if semi gloss paint is supposed to do that.We got my home painted with semi gloss paint 3 days ago. and i can scratch it off with my fingernail still?
Paints take at least 2 weeks to fully cure. Do not try to scratch it off with your fingernail within 3 days. I work at Home Depot in the paint department and I have this questions all the time. Especially with semi gloss paint. With it being shiny it does take a little longer to dry. Give it at least 2 weeks before you try cleaning it or anything like that.We got my home painted with semi gloss paint 3 days ago. and i can scratch it off with my fingernail still?
It really depends on the type of paint (quality) and the preparation of the surface that was painted... Did you clean the walls before painting.. I use Tri sodium phosphate to clean the walls... Also, priming helps the paint adhere better.. Did you do 1 or 2 or more coats of paint? Also, paint does take a good amount of time to ';cure'; or harden to the surface painted so give it some time and if it's still cracking and peeling.. Be prepared to REPAINT ! Also, I work at Lowes and the paint dept is very, very knowledgeable about the products and painting in general....
Good luck
Its not supposed to do that! It may be the surface or type of paint that you painted on top of. Look on your can and there should be a phone number or help line number. I call this rather than talk to the guys at the store, 'cause a lot of times they are not real knowledgeable about their products.
I dont'know how hard you are scratching the paint but it it does come off easly or it actually peels off,the problem is not the paint or the application but the surface preparation.
You should have a clean and smooth surface, better if you sand it so that the new paint could cling to it better.
Depends on latex or acrylic and indoor or out door paint. Was it sanded before painting, and the time takes for curing. Read the can then determine right or Then go with the phone # on the can as Layniegi advised.
When you scratched the paint off, was there more than paint under your nail? It sounds like the wall may have been damp or decomposing. Is the paint tacky to the touch? Do you have air circulation in the house?detox cleansing

It is just plain fingernail glue that you find in any store.I know this is girly but how do I get fake fingernail glue off ?

Soak your nails in 100% straight acetone nail polish remover. If you also happen to have fake nails still on, then you can still soak your nails and the fake nails will dissolve. Just be careful: I held my fingers in there long enough that I had a reaction to the acetone, so it probably isn't a good idea to hold them in there for more than 15 minutes.

If you put a new coat of nail polish over the existing polish and wipe it off right away it will take the dried polish underneath off as well. May have to do 2 or 3 times to get all of it off. If possible, use a clear or light color.

If you have clear nailpolish, paint a coat of that over your current nail polish. While it is still wet, take a cloth or paper towel and wipe it off. You might have to do it a couple of times, but it should take the color off.

It's annoying and tedious, but you can just scratch it off with your other nails or maybe a nail file or something. I usually just use my other nails when I dont have polish remover.
Rubbing alchohol works well.

Get a good Multi-Vitiman like GNC Ultra Mega Green and use Almond Oil on your nails and around your finger tips.
alot of the questions above are correct but if everynight BEFORE you go to sleep you can wash your nails with soap and then rub garlic on your nails BUT DONT TAKE IT OFF!!!!!!!
At Sephora, there are some products you can use like L'Occitane Shea Butter Nail %26amp; Cuticle Cream, or Sephora's own brand of a Nail Stimulating Serum. Go to www.sephora.com to check other products that will suit you and your budget. The Body Shop is another store and website where you may be able to find something more natural for your nails/cuticles. Good luck!

How many coats of fingernail polish does a good secretary apply and how many toe rings are too many?
I don't want to be a bad secretary! How many coats of fingernail polish does a good secretary apply and how many toe rings are too many?
I think one ring per toe is enough. And three coats of nail polish. I don't know much about that stuff. If you are too bored, could you remove it and put it on again?
As for the gum, I think twice a day is good. Once mid morning and once after lunch. How many coats of fingernail polish does a good secretary apply and how many toe rings are too many?
You've described half the secretaries I've hired. They also seem to take their sweet time when bending over for a file in the bottom cabinet, where a male boss can see that tattoo right over the butt.
Now, in the 21st century, they don't give people like me secretaries anymore, as we all can word process and answer phones ourselves.
I miss those days.
Several coats each day, and one on each toe, and dont forget the gum.
Gotta really know how to smack it while talking and answering the phone.

I broke the top knuckle of my pinkie finger a few months ago and now that fingernail is growing funny?
There is no discoloration, but it is growing thicker and not as smooth as in the past.
Is this normal ?

sounds like you damaged the nail bed - it may be like that for the rest of your life. My son smashed his finger when he was young, it stunted the growth of the end of the finger and his nail always grows out with a split in it.detox cleansing

Other than using fingernail polish remover. How do u get superglue off of your hands/fingers???
i have super glue on my fingers and i dont have finger nail polish readily available. and i cannot soak my whole hand in something bc i have fake nails and i dont want them to come off. only the super glue on my fingers.Other than using fingernail polish remover. How do u get superglue off of your hands/fingers???
Zippo lighter fluid. It works to take off everything. It's not harmful to you either. Squirt some on a cotton ball and dab the superglue off your palm.Other than using fingernail polish remover. How do u get superglue off of your hands/fingers???
use baby oil if you have some, maybe lotion will work too
scrub your hands with damp ajax
You can use acetone. Use a swab dip it into the acetone and apply the acetone to the areas where there is super glue. Should loosen up for you.
If the glue is still wet, hold finger in ear, let dry and wait. :-) The glue you have is like apoxy, try using grain alcohol.
I will come off in aday or so not wory.

Take a 14 ounce can of Rave Hairspray and get a 9 inch balloon. Put the balloon over the nozzle and fill it up. Let the air go into your nose. Dump the liquid out of the balloon. Repeat until can is gone.
I know how they do it and it's not safe! Let's face it just smelling the fumes from normal use gives me a headache! But if you MUST know huffing is the term given to concentrating the fumes by spraying it into something and breathing the fumes. But if you are considering doing it yourself--DON'T! Why do I have a ridge on my fingernail?
I am 52 years old. In the past year, on my 4th finger, I have developed a ridge on my nail that goes from my cuticle to the end of my fingernail. It won't go away. As my nail grows, so does the ridge. It's a long, pencil-thin ridge. Somebody said it was caused by my diet or that it happens to everybody. It annoys me. What is the cause of this? I know...it's not life threatening...it just annoys me.Why do I have a ridge on my fingernail?
its probably caused by scar tissue on the nail bed.You are stuck with it. just file it down if it bothers you.Why do I have a ridge on my fingernail?

What is the reason for 1 long fingernail on some ppls hands?

Some people keep it long cuz they can hit coke in it. Some people keep it long to break a blunt. It is also a good weapon, if i get my nail on your throat you can kick and punch all you want but once it digs in you're screwed.

Hi. Jeez that is bad. Nail polish remover is likely to dissolve the top layer of your screen, which is plastic. You could try it anyway because the screen will most likely have to be replaced.Daughter got fingernail polish on my laptop screen. best way to get it off without damaging screen?
i wouldn't think that the remover would hurt.you could try just a little.
Not sure completely about nail polish remover, but I do know that companies use a solution of rubbing alcohol to clean the screens at the factory... in any case, try a small spot in a corner of the screen to test it.
Donot use remover It will eat into screen.Get some paint thinner it will bring it off without eating into screen.Make sure it is not laq. thinner.

i leave it there in case my car veers off the highway in a snow storm and gets stuck for a few days... you never know when you might need sustenance to keep you alive...

Does Fingernail Size Matter For Playing Classical/Acoustic Guitar?
I cut my nails really short. I was wondering if I should just grow my right hand nails, would that make the sound better? Because currently with my right hand I just use my finger tips, because my nails are tiny.
-If I should grow my nails, about how long should they be?Does Fingernail Size Matter For Playing Classical/Acoustic Guitar?
If you are, like most of the world, right-handed-----cut your fingernails on your left hand short, and let your fingernails on your right hand grow, reasonably, of course. The right handed fingernails become the ';picks';. If you're a southpaw, do the opposite.
Go to YouTube, search Ed Gerhart, hit ';The Water is Wide';, and look at his fingernails---while you enjoy a superbly played and beautiful song. You will be able to see and hear what I mean. I'm not him, just a 40 year picker, and a fan.Does Fingernail Size Matter For Playing Classical/Acoustic Guitar?
you should grow your nails if you want to fingerpick clearly
or you can but fingerpicks from a guitar store
i suggest that the fingernails just barely go above the tip of your finger because if your nails are too long, then its not good

What kind of doctor should i see for an ingrown fingernail?
Just a regular doctor. They treat all sorts of ingrown nails just at their clinics. Just letting the other person know that a podiotrist, a foot doctor, deals more with ankles, feet and the joints and other things such as flat footedness, not something as simple as an ingrown nail.
Oh and no dont see a dermatologist, they deal with skin conditions such as acne and rashes on the skin, not nails. Dont see a nail specialist because they deal with manicures ect and dont have a medical background. Just your regular GP.What kind of doctor should i see for an ingrown fingernail?

What are the white cresents at the base of your fingernail?
They are called a lunule or a ';half moon'; if you have them it's good. It means you have healthy fingernails and good circulation. If you dont, it could mean that you are low in B12.What are the white cresents at the base of your fingernail?
I'm not a expert on fingernails or anything, but I think your fingernails get white on the ends because that is the part of the nail that is not directly attached to your skin underneath.

Why do some men keep their pinky fingernail long?
I've seen it on several older guys (late 30's)Why do some men keep their pinky fingernail long?
Yes they use it for coke. But some people are douchebags and see other people with it and not knowing what it means grow it out because they think its cool. Why do some men keep their pinky fingernail long?
I asked, and I was told that it was because they use that fingernail to snort coke. But, you can't judge a book by it's cover. If a man you know keeps his fingernail long, why not ask him? He might keep it long for a completely innocent reason.
Well there are several reasons:
1) nose/teeth picker
2) to snort coke
3) fashionable (gay guys)
4) looks good w/ pinky ring
5) stab somebody in the EYE!! LOL!
This might not be the answer you want to hear, but it is in fact true. They use their nail as a way to easily snort cocaine. It is a lot easier than doing a line.
that's the nose picking finger so keep it long for maximum penetration.
gazoo strikes again
well, i think thats isgusting and worrying...and very bizarre! Well maybe they are trying 2 do something 2 show their age? And I think maybe its a sign of wannabe pimps...

I was gonna answer this but I had no idea guys use their pinky nail for coke woooowweeee!!!......
It generally means they have a coke problem, they use their finger nail as a scoop!
It's for drug use. They take a bit of cocaine on that fingernail and snort it.
I've asked my friend the same question. He said something to do with rolling a blunt.
It is for coke also used with pills too
yes, pretty much for any drug that you sniff up your nose. Not very attractive but it gets noticed every time!!!!
To measure a pick-me-up of cocaine.
in china, this is very common
cause the people (not just men) dig their noses/ears with it.
They use it as a coke spoon.
either to lazy to cut it,
picking teeth and/or nose with it.
or they want to be excentric
For cocaine I guess
Or maybe they just have a really bad booger problem
they wanna have something they can use to poke stuff or scratch stuff with.
its gross
most of the time for weed or cocaine...

Will my fingernail get infected/ drop off? Will the hole just grow out?
I was slicing a fish and the knife went through my finger nail, its cut off a slice of it and exposed the nail bed. It keeps bleeding and it bloody knacks!!!
Will the hole just grow out as the nail grows or will my fingernail grown back funny? It's not the matrix thats damaged so im hoping it will b ok.Will my fingernail get infected/ drop off? Will the hole just grow out?
Unless the base of the nail is also damaged, your nail shouldn't fall off. The hole will grow out as the nail grows. The initial regrowth may be slightly funny but your nail should grow out normally in the end. Put a bandage over your fingernail, covering the hole, until it stops bleeding. Neosporin will help prevent infection and help with the pain (look for the neosporin plus pain relief). Will my fingernail get infected/ drop off? Will the hole just grow out?
You'll feel pain for several days cause the nailbed's been exposed. Don't worry, your nail will grow back fine. It'll not be funny. Just have it covered (not by plaster) so that the pain will not bother you when you work. Maybe some anti bacterial ointment will help.

WHILE THE NAIL GROWS BACK YOU SHOULD CLEAN IT WITH IODINE AT LEAST ONCE A DAY SO THE NAILBED WONT GET INFECTED AFTER THAT PUT SOME TRIPLE ANTIBIOTIC OINTMENT ON IT AND PUT A BAND-AID ON.HOPE IT HELPED

My 2 year old painted herself with fingernail polish. Can anyone tell me what to use?
other than fingernail polish remover to get it off? Since its one hers legs I dont want it to irritate her. Thanks. My 2 year old painted herself with fingernail polish. Can anyone tell me what to use?
Be glad it wasn't the carpet... Now *that* was difficult to clean!
Warm, soapy bath and some old-fashioned (gentle) scrubbing is what I've done in the past.
The olive oil approach sounds helpful, too. I may try that next time. :)
My oldest is in her teen years now and despite my attempts at vigilance, we still have an occasional nail polish incident when the little ones find her stash, or she leaves one out soemwhere. :(My 2 year old painted herself with fingernail polish. Can anyone tell me what to use?
Time.
try some rubbing alcohol. Or a nice long bath. With a good srubbing to get it off. If your not wanting to use nail polish remover. The nail polish remover shouldn't irritate her legs. But if you are worried about that stick her in a bath afterwards. That will get the chemicals off.
My little madam did that 2..she was a very fetching shade of pink!! I used nail varnish remover and made sure it was all rinsed off it didn't do her any harm ;-)
OMG... the terrible 2's...
Use some nail polish remover, then a quick warm bubble bath with lots of toys and maybe one of those 'stern mommie looks' so she knows not to do that again!
nail polish remover.
paint thinner
Bless her, they are great at that age. Stick her in the bath for an hour. That, and a wee bit of gentle scraping, should do it.
a warm bath in soapy water should loosen the polish. It should wash off her skin in a couple of days.
Paint thinner and polish remover is a no-no!! Especially on a little 2 year old!! So, just put some olive oil onto the spots and apply the oil (virgin works best) with cotton balls. Let the oil work itself into the skin..so make sure to saturate the cotton ball in it. Work in a circular motion, using clean cotton balls as the dirty ones become soiled. Virgin Olive oil will not harm skin...in fact, it used to be used as a conditioner!
put her in the bathtub and the water will soften the polish and it will come right off, let her play in the water a while
A nice LONG, WARM bath. Make it fun so she will want to stay in longer. Don't put to much soap because that will irritate her skin also. Just gently rub it with a wash cloth and soap. If there is any on the actual nail I would nail polish remover, but do it before the bath so you can wash it off once you're done.
You are not the first one with this dilemma. My daughter did the same thing. I used non-acetone fingernail polish remover and bathed her right after and put some hydracortizone cream on her when I dried her off. She had sensitive skin and this didn't seem to irritate her skin. The only other thing I can think of would be baby oil and scrub her skin, but that might hurt a bit.
nail varnish remover
I am sure its VERY cute! :D Just let her soak in the Tub with some Bubbles and I am sure after a day or two it will come right off!!

Are there anyway to clear your toenails fingernail after they turn dark or gets dark streaks..?
When you nails turn different colors is it permanent...are there ways to clear your nails...some say the results of dark colored nails come from medication side effects but I don't take medicine could i be that it runs in my family. Are there anyway to clear your toenails fingernail after they turn dark or gets dark streaks..?
That is a disease, caused by a fungus, Tinea Unguium (sorry, I know only the latin name). I presume they have also grown thick too? There you go. It can be treated, no problem, but the treatment might take a while - complete, 6 months... It ';runs'; in your family because you have happened to share the same shoes. Please see a dermatologist, they are the most qualified to help you.
Untreated, it is not dangerous (except for the aspect) but it is a gateway for possible bacterial infections that might prove very damaging to your feet. It is related to the disease known as the athlete's foot.
PS: It's not melanoma. You do not have melanin-producing cells in your nail-tissue...Are there anyway to clear your toenails fingernail after they turn dark or gets dark streaks..?
Bob Marley died from subungual melanoma of a toe. Melanoma CAN and DOES grow on the nail bed and/or the nail matrix producing a brown or black vertical streak as melanin is deposited into the growing nail by the cancerous melanocytes. Search for pictures of subungual melanoma. See a dermatologist.
And Tinea Unguium is Latin for nail fungus...
discolored nails can be caused by fungus...if it's not a fungus soaking your feet in epsom salts will help
Get yourself to a dermatologist immediately. Although there are other conditions that can cause that, it could also be melanoma, a deadly skin cancer. If I am causing you alarm, I hope it is needless alarm but it's up to you to find out, and don't waste any time.
Paul C, if it were melanoma it would be in the skin under the nail, not the nail itself. I have seen a picture of melanoma under the nail and it looked similar to melanonychia, which is a non-fungal darkening of the nail. It (melanonychia) is caused by increased melanocytes usually within the nail matrix. It seems more common in people from India.
Tinea Unguium is ringworm of the nail.
Bob Marley died from a melanoma on his toe and for some reason I am thinking that I read that it was under the nail.
um, you might try to soak them in hydrogen peroxide or soak in lemon juice... do you wear a lot of nail polish... this could turn nails different colors... if not, press on nail and see if nail bed turns white then back to pink... if not, you may have a nail fungus.. hard to get rid of, there are otc stuff, but dr would be best.

How do I get the fingernail ';scrapes'; off that are around my doorhandles on my clearcoated white car?
Clearcoat fingernail scrapemarks around door handlesHow do I get the fingernail ';scrapes'; off that are around my doorhandles on my clearcoated white car?
The best thing I have found to get off scratches like that is cheap toothpaste. It is slightly abrasive but not too severe and you just polish it on with a clean cloth. As a bonus, it gives the car a minty , clean scent too.How do I get the fingernail ';scrapes'; off that are around my doorhandles on my clearcoated white car?
Get the, ( so called ) colored match, rubbing compound, and just follow the instructions.
I agree with the clay bar. They do work great.
Polish it with a good polishing compound then trim your nails
Turtle Wax rubbing compound.
Meguiars Clear Coat Scratch Remover.
Followup with a good protective wax.
There is a clear coat spray that you could use (sparingly).
You will need to mask off the area (about a foot) around the scratch area and spray ever so lightly.
Before you do the car test your spraying ability on a scrap piece of cardboard or metal. If you spray too much at one time you could develop drips. Better to wait a couple of minutes and do a light spray again.
i would use a clay bar...they work wonders!

Where do you keep your fingernail, scab, and belly button lint collections?
Do they need sunlight? Refrigeration?Where do you keep your fingernail, scab, and belly button lint collections?
i recycle them into food that i serve at a cafe near you allWhere do you keep your fingernail, scab, and belly button lint collections?
Sunlight is a no but refrigeration is an option. I find a even balance between non refrigeration and keeping it cool is the key.
I keep them in separate jars, tightly closed and labeled properly. They should not be aimed at sunlight or they will turn to fingernail, scab and belly button lint monsters! No refrigeration required.
I'm not going to tell. I don't want strange people trying to mess with my prize winning collections of bodily effluvia. Likewise with the complementary collection of used band aids and toe jam.
Proudly displayed on my coffee table.
Compost, they make good fertilizer.
In a specially compartmentalised box
I keep them in a glass jar by the side of my bed. They don't require anything, just a cork lid.
The floor or ground. No special requirements for storage.
In the garbage..?
At your house!
In the garbage, like normal people.
in a small jar, they need dark damp conditions dear
I eat mine!
you're supposed to keep them...oh crap...i eat all mine..i was told its good for my teethdetox cleansing

I closed my finger in a door. Will the fingernail fall off?
I hit it HARD. It's kind of black and blue under the nail, but I have nail polish on so it's hard to tell (I was going to take it off but it really hurts, even when I touch it gently). Do you think the nail will fall off? And does it hurt when a nail falls off?I closed my finger in a door. Will the fingernail fall off?
It probally will because my mom got a giant dog bone dropped on her foot and she had alot of blood under her nail then she had to get a hole drilled in it so the blood would come out then it fell off so i would go to a docter because hers was purpleish blueI closed my finger in a door. Will the fingernail fall off?
Keep some ice on it to help with the pain and swelling. It's hard to tell about the nail; sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. Hubby seems to be the king of that kind of nail injuries and his rarely fall off; they just look bad until it grows out.
If it does fall off, keep a band-aid on it to keep the area clean and protected.

What causes a fingernail to grow away from the nailbed? How can this be treated?
It can be caused by nail fungus.

Is there a home remedy for a hurt fingernail?
I bite my nails :( I want to quit but anyway sometimes I bite em real short and they bleed and the pain is excruciating and takes a while to go away. Going on two days for this hurt one.I'm in eighth grade and it hurts to write or do anything with my fingers. Please helpIs there a home remedy for a hurt fingernail?
There are only a few I know of that can help with something like that. One is to cover the finger nails with something like a band-aid (there are a few that are designed for the finger tips) to let them heal (and maybe to help you from biting them if you want that as well). Another is to take a pain reliever, but those don't tend to help for physical injuries like that, so I doubt it would help in that situation.
You could try soaking your finger in cold Aloe Vera if it's not an open wound... Aloe helps to soothe any tissue it touches, so it would help to soothe and heal it, plus the cold temperature can help numb it. If you have any Vitamin E oil, that could help heal it up a bit, too.
I used to bite my fingernails, too... I didn't know about these back then, but there were a few times I really wish I did.
Good luck and I hope I helped!

My kids spilled fingernail polish remover on my finished wood end table. How do I repair the end table cheap?
I would sand off the table and remove the rest of the varnish and make it smooth. Then go get a stain that you like and re-stain it yourself and then polyurethane it.My kids spilled fingernail polish remover on my finished wood end table. How do I repair the end table cheap?
Wendy got it right. The best thing to do will be to refinish it. Sand all of the finish off, restain it, and then apply polyurethane. I just clipped 2 ingrown finger nails (both hands, index fingers). I clipped it as low as I can. It looks pretty even, but will it grow back the same or will it grow properly???Will my fingernail grow back after clipping an ingrown?
Should grow back properly. Just make sure you're taking care of your hands, moisturizing and keeping them filed and smooth.

Does clear fingernail polish help to cure chiggers?
I always heard that the polish will kill the chigger. My veterinary friend says it's just an old wives tale and that the chigger is long gone before the itching starts.Does clear fingernail polish help to cure chiggers?
Yes. i had them last week and it cleared right up with the polishDoes clear fingernail polish help to cure chiggers?
You need a new veterinary. Putting fingernail polish over the hole the chigger entered will close off the air supply and smother the chigger. Then it will be gone.
we always used petro
Not sure, but I had forgotten about that. When I was a kid and went blackberry picking I would get chiggers something awful. It seemed like I put on some stinky sulfur stuff to keep them away but yes once I was bitten I do remember the fingernail polish. Not sure of its viability. Good luck.

What color fingernail polish looks best on a tan girl?
I was thinking gold. What do you think? What color fingernail polish looks best on a tan girl?
I think the best thing is a french manicure. But if you don't want to have a french manicure all summer here is what I do:
I paint my nails with french manicure polish. Then I take a thin acrylic overlay to protect it. Then if you choose to wear a different color that matches your outfit all you have to do is apply two coats over the french manicure to change the color.
Then if you want to go back to the french manicure all you have to do is use NON-ACETONE nail polish to take of the polish and then you will have your french manicure back.
This is so convenient because french manicure goes with anything and if you don't have time to polish your nails you can still have a great look for summer.
All of my nail clients love this! Give it a try!
Good luck to you! ~BonWhat color fingernail polish looks best on a tan girl?
hey hun....you can't go wrong with neutrals they look great on with any skin tone...love daisy
gold,tan.mocha,pink,peach,french,
Because your skin is tanned the gold nail varnish will not look so effective, i think that different shades of pink, or certain peachy browns look good also.
Gold looks great on tanned skin - any of those goldish and sandy colors. Try pastels and pearls too.
Hey - Bon Bon has the greatest idea! Im definately going to try that!
I think gold, brown, beige and other ';earthcolors'; will fit fine on you.
Amber, coral, or cream color.
i am tan-ish 2....n i put wat ever color suits me......how about try a color tha suit u....lol....
Whether you're tanned or not, it still depends on your skin tone (cool, warm or neutral.) If you have a warm skin tone, gold would probably look nice against tanned skin, as would coral-y pinks. If your skin tone is cool, though, maybe try a brighter shade of pink (something with a blue undertone) or lilac.
Anything but red
Yeah, gold is good. Even bronzey-oranges look good. Anything that has sparkle and is more sheer than opaque.

gold,tan.mocha,pink,peach,french,
Because your skin is tanned the gold nail varnish will not look so effective, i think that different shades of pink, or certain peachy browns look good also.

Does fingernail color have anything to heath of someone?
what color sould ones fingernail be, pink? what if its not pink but light pink or white, does the color have anything to do with blood circulation?Does fingernail color have anything to heath of someone?
Yes, fingernail color can suggest medical problems. When you are going to have surgery, you are required to remove nail polish. Your nails have a bluish tint if you are not getting enough oxygen. Discolored nails could also mean a fungal infection.Does fingernail color have anything to heath of someone?
I think so, but there can be so many other factors as well. I think there are a lot better ways to determine how healthy you are and how good of circulation you have (like resting heart rate, blood pressure, colesterol level, etc.)

I think I have an ingrown fingernail and its green. What should I do?
Should i go to the doctor?I think I have an ingrown fingernail and its green. What should I do?
probably,
if it is green it is infected you likely need antibiotics ... I do not let mine get that far.. nail polish is the only time they are green.
soak it in hot epson salt water.. 10 minutes then I use granulated sugar to draw the poison out of open sores...don't laugh it works...I think I have an ingrown fingernail and its green. What should I do?
Sounds like an infection. If the area is red, swollen, painful, and has a big ol pocket of pus there you should get it looked at by a doctor. Of course if it's green because you like green fingernail polish you might be okay
Keep it clean with hydrogen peroxide then put neosporin on it to prevent further infection do this for a few days and it should get better if it doesn't then go to the doctor.
It could be that another one is growing inside it.so when it grows to a certain height, the top one will fall off

I found 4 very tiny frogs (about the size of my smallest fingernail) so so small! What in the world do they ea?
What should be in their tank? I found all of them in grass. I have a 10 gallon tank, and about 10lbs of sand, but I have access to grass also. I think they are ';Little Grass Frogs'; not sure.I found 4 very tiny frogs (about the size of my smallest fingernail) so so small! What in the world do they ea?
I would try feeding them some BurgerShots from Burger King. They are pretty small, but they fill you up pretty quickly.I found 4 very tiny frogs (about the size of my smallest fingernail) so so small! What in the world do they ea?
They eat small rhinosaurases
i got 3 tiny frogs last year and at first i put real grass and plants in it but they die so fast to i just bought some fake plants from the pet store and made them a little pond with a bowl. when they were that tiny i fed them rollie pollies i caught in my yard and also crickets from the pet store (ask for small ones) but they are still alive a year later so i guess it worked
honestly if you don't know the basics of care and don't know the species i would highly recommend you release them. all frogs are carnivores with a majority being insectivores (invert eaters)
without location data and a picture i woudlnt even hazard a guess at the species or what care they requrie (frogs dont have some generic care) but they are likely to be newly morphed frogs and some species are protected and its illegal to keep or collect them so i would work out what species u have pretyy sharpish or just let them go

What can i do about a pencil lead stuck between my fingernail?
Well, I don't really know how far in there it is but you could try to twese it out. If that doesn't work try waiting it out. As your nail grows the lead should move up with the nail. If in a week you still can't get it with a tweser, see a doctor. What can i do about a pencil lead stuck between my fingernail?
cut your fingernails way back- it may hurt but it will grow back. Unless you can grasp it with tweezers or something thin. What can i do about a pencil lead stuck between my fingernail?
twezzers
if it is LEAD, than you should go to the doctor, but dont worry most pencils are made of graphite, if you cant get it out with a tweezer then it may be stuck in there. about 15 years ago i got a pencil stuck in the palm of my hand and the pencil stain is still there!!
Soak your hand in warm water for a bit then tweezer it out.
pull it out with tweezers then wash it really good
Oooh, that's gotta hurt :/
I would recommend soaking your hand in a bowl of warm water to try to ease it out of there, if that still doesn't help, see a doctor.
call a doctor
It's just graphite, not lead, and hence is not a health threat. Unless you develop an infection, it's not a problem.

What is the average length of a man and a womens fingernail?
I think maybe an inch for men and 2 for women. It also would depend on how big one's fingers are. What is the average length of a man and a womens fingernail?
Do you mean from the base of each nail?
I don't know what the average is but I hope and pray that the man's are short.

How can i remove fingernail polish from clothes?
My daughter has gotten finger nail polish on her jean shorts, any suggestions other than polish remover? How can i remove fingernail polish from clothes?
I'mnot quite sure, but whatever you do, DON'T put polish remover on it as it will bleach it. My best guess is to put it under warm water and scrub it good. Work fast, as nail polish dries super quick. How can i remove fingernail polish from clothes?
You just may be out of luck. I did hear that rubbing alcohol (the clear kind) gets it out of a lot of things.
Use Goo Gone Extreme.... look it up online, it gets out everything!!

Is it safe to put a contact in the day after scraping my eyeball with my fingernail while taking it out?
It is a minor scrape but my eye is still a little red this morning. Is it safe to put a contact in the day after scraping my eyeball with my fingernail while taking it out?
Corneal abrasions tend to heal very quickly, but that's pushing it a bit too much. Take a couple of days off. There's no sense in begging for the pseudomonas to grow.Is it safe to put a contact in the day after scraping my eyeball with my fingernail while taking it out?
no
absolutely not!!! you could have a corneal abrasion which really should be looked at by a physician and treated. if it's red you may need antibiotics and definately not be using your contacts as this may lead to further infection and compromise of your vision. please either see your doctor or go to the ER asap.
I would wait one more day just to give your eye time to heal.

Where can i buy an Professional Airbrush machine for fingernail art design?
What you're looking for comprises of three elements...an airbrush, a hose, and an air source.
There are a number of airbrushes marketed specifically for nail use. I'd check out the link below, e-mail em...tell them your price range and ask them to recommend gear.

What does it mean when a tip of a fingernail turns downward?
Usually this is a genetic trait and I am sorry to say that there is absolutely nothing that you can do. I have the same problem and I have tried everything to correct and straighten it, but nothing has worked. If it really bothers you, you may just have to keep your nails short or perhaps get nail extensions. What does it mean when a tip of a fingernail turns downward?
you have egg shell nails. that apparently is a cosmetic term for it. girl that did my nails told me that. What does it mean when a tip of a fingernail turns downward?
It means they have been hitting toooo many computer keys..lol ;)
you lack water...at least that's what I was told
Sometimes misshaped fingernails can be a sign of health problems. Respiratory or cardiac problems. One fingernail, I wouldn't worry about- just cut it and see what happens when it grows back.
too long I guess! or could be that your shoes are to tight if its on your toes.

Can you clip yor cats nails with regular fingernail clippers?
I dont think so, I think that would hurt them. Can you clip yor cats nails with regular fingernail clippers?
Hi,, sure you can , if you can get kitty to be still long enough to use them,,, don't clip too short either,,,,
good luckCan you clip yor cats nails with regular fingernail clippers?
Yes. That's how I do my cat's nails.
Yes, but amke sure you just cut off a small amount on the tips or the nail will shatter, causing more problems. If you have cutical sissors those will work better. Wal-mart carries cat nail clippers for pretty cheep, so pick some up next time!
I used to use regular nail clippers, just cut the tips though don't go to far back with them.
Cat nail clippers are not designed for the sole purpose of preventing you from cutting the quick. You can STILL cut the quick with the guillotine-style cat clippers.
Whatever you use, just don't cut the pink part inside the nail (the quick). Don't even get up close to it, really. When first starting out, you'll want to just clip the very tips of the nails off. As you become more comfortable clipping the nails, you can go down a little shorter (but you should still keep a good distance between the quick and clippers).
I use regular human clippers on my cat. I say cat because I haven't tried cutting my second cat's nails yet. I may not try, she's a bit fiesty and may require a vet or groomer.
To use human clippers (make sure they're not dull) you need to turn the cat's nail to the side. Don't come at it straight on while the nail is curved downward (the way it would be if the cat were standing). Turn it so it's flat. I really hope you're understanding this.
But yet, human clippers are fine. I actually prefer them to cat clippers....they're just easier for me to use. Especially since the nail being turned to the side allows me better view of the quick.
YEs yoou can we have been doing it in our fmaily for over 30 years with great success, have never bought a dog or cat nail clipper and there is no need for one!
Yes you can. It is actually much easier for most people to use them.
Human fingernail clippers work well for a kitten. When the cat is older their nails are much tougher than ours are so the specially designed cat clippers would be better, faster.
Sure, I've done it for years. What you have to be really, really careful of it just to take off the tip - there's a place a little lower down called the ';quick'; that will bleed if you cut into it. Once you get the hang of doing this, and learn the best way to hold your cat and push out the claw, it's a piece of cake. The cat gets used to it too. I've never, ever had trouble!
no way that would be a very bad idea i would advise you to go to a vets it will not cost you much.if you use human clippers you will split the cats nail then it will bleed which can lean to infection which then can lead to death.make sure you have a scraching post for your cat
Yes. I have done this many times before. You need to be sure to do it AWAY from the very end of the claw. Gently push on the top of your cats toe and the claw will slide out. Only trim the ends of them.
of course you can!
as long as you know where to cut.
Yes, I actually found them to work easier.
not a very good idea........
you can clip it's nails but you need to use clippers made for animals, and you need to know the proper way to do it. If you cut too close to the paw it will hurt the cat and bleed, plus the cat will probably scratch you pretty bad then you should seek medical attention to avoid ';Cat scratch fever'; If you a sure you know how to clip the nails, have some one hold the cat up by the scruff of its neck, this immobilizes the cat and you won't get scratched
i wouldn't because you use them too. Unless they're just for your cat than yes.... They're little nails can be clipped. Dogs nails are different though. Much harder. They're not gonna like it though....
Yes, I always do that, just make sure you only trim the edge, not the part that has blood vessels in it. Also you must put the slot of the clipper parallel to the nail, not as you would do it on your fingers.
Yes. I use them with great success on my cats. Just make sure you know where to cut.
Do you want scratched up, take him to a vet to do it. Judy
i dont think so either. you should got to like pet smart and check if they got special cat paw nail clipplers good luck
I would not they should be clipped at the right angle, I just got a clipper for animals at a discount store for less that 5 bucks.
Yes, you can, as long as the vet shows you how not to cut into the '; quick'; of their nail. However, even if you're doing it correctly and not hurting them, most cats don't like it. They seem to be annoyed by the '; clipping'; sound.
Your's may be fine with it. Good luck.

How to Trim a Cat's Nails
Cats' nails need to be trimmed. It's good for their health, as well as for your furniture.
Steps
Wait until your cat is lying down or calm. If she/he is playing and in a crazy mood it will be much harder. When your cat is in a calm mood go over to her and pet her. Pick her up and plop her onto your lap.
Put her in between your legs so her back is facing your stomach. Have your nail trimmers ready. The reason you put her in this position is because cats tend to go backwards when scared.
Pick up your cat's first paw and clip the first nail. You can't see it but there is a smaller part in the nail which you want to make sure you don't cut. You won't unless you cut the nail too short. Clip not a lot but enough so your cat won't scratch.
Move on to the second paw then place your cat so part of her back is leaning on you. That way you can reach the back paws with out scaring her. clip the back paws and then your cat will probably run away feeling scared.
Tips
Your cat's nails need to be trimmed often.
Some cats are very scared. You may need to clip one foot and let her run away for a bit. Then come back to another foot about an hour or so later.
Warnings
Do not pressure your cat to stay on your lap. It will feel even more freaked out.
Things You'll Need
nail clippers (you can get ones that are made for cats)
No cause it might hurt them . Get dog clippers. But it's not a good idea to clip them .The reason why is that cat needs thier claws to clib trees and defend thier selfs from other cat's. But it's up to you.
no
If her nails are small and very thin if not maybe you should use a dogs nail clipper
yes, but most pet stores have toe nail clipper designed specifically for your pet so you are less likely to cut the kwick (blood vessel in the nail).
Yes. I do it all the time on my tabby. You just have to be careful not to cut too high up, where the pink part begins. I would also recommend that you do it when your cat is in a relaxed mood, otherwise, you're doomed. Just talk to him/her in a reassuring voice ';its ok. I'm just going to cut your nails really quickly. There. That didn't hurt, did it?'; Seems to work on my cat.
if you have never clipped your cats nails before, i would recommend taking the cat to the vet and having the vet show you how.
cat nail clippers are best cause they are curved a certain way, cats have nerves and blood vessels in their claws and if you clip to high up you could hurt them. so have your vet show you how.

Could i have gotten ringworm from my fingernail bitting habit?
You got ringworm, if you have it, from someone else or a pet with it. Cats spread it well.Could i have gotten ringworm from my fingernail bitting habit?
Chances are unlikely unless you have bit into the skin and it has become infected.Could i have gotten ringworm from my fingernail bitting habit?
what is ringworm??
Yes you could have, if you did not wash your hands after being to the loo (bathroom, toilet), and then went chomping on your nails, you can easily pass things back into your system.
Hope your seeing a doctor, although ringworm won't kill you, it can make you feel pretty ill - you need medication.
Good luck, and please try to stop biting your nails, think of all the lovely rings you could wear on your hand, if your nails were really nice. I know habits are hard to break, but do try.
Good Luck, don't worry, get to the doc and you'll be feeling better soon.
possibly, i bite my fingernails too and i got something like that..definitely call your doctor because he can give you meds for it
Chances are unlikely unless you have bit into the skin and it has become infected.Could i have gotten ringworm from my fingernail bitting habit?
what is ringworm??

Badly broken fingernail might have got infected?
My nail snapped and is very very short now.
It bled when I snapped it and today it is very sore to the touch, slightly swollen and really hot. I can't see any pus.
What should I do about it?Badly broken fingernail might have got infected?
Wash it and soak in hydrogen peroxide before you bandage it.

You could possibly have a type of fungus. But your Dr can give you something that can kill the fungus and clear your nails.

I found a small frog it is about the size of a fingernail! I have more to say so click here!?
Hi! I found a frog about the size of a fingernail! Can someone please give me info on hw to take care of it like food, shelter ect. Please answer both of my question when you answer. Please!I found a small frog it is about the size of a fingernail! I have more to say so click here!?
Frogs that size will eat flightless fruit flies. They are available at most pet stores. Eventually you can upgrade to feeding him pinhead crickets.
As for shelter, a five gallon tank will do for now, but once he grows larger he will need at least a ten gallon. A ten gallon tank at Petsmart costs about twelve dollars. These tanks should have screen tops to allow for good ventilation. The lights can also be set on top of the lid. Good frog lights are the exo terra night-glo and the exo-terra day-glo. A good fixture for these lights is the Arizona hot lamp because it has an adjustable knob, making it easier to find the perfect temperature. To make sure that your frog's temperature is comfortable, also invest in a thermometer. Coconut fiber bedding works well for frogs, and is found at Petsmart at a good price. Keep your frog moist by sraying him daily with a spray bottle.
Good Luck.I found a small frog it is about the size of a fingernail! I have more to say so click here!?
Well, if you want to take care of it, I'd get a container, like a tank. You don't really need a big one since it is so small. They like green stuff, go out side and gather some leaves and branches and stuff.
Put dirt on the floor of the container.
For Food, I don't know what to feed something that small. Maybe get some worms and chop it up in tiny pieces.
I think there are also special food that you could get a Petco and stuff.
Keep the tank damp. Maybe try to make a little pool or pond in one edge, with twigs and stuff going out of the water to the edge of the tank so the frog can get up above the water. But yeah keep one half of the tank dry, but the dry side still needs to be damp.
Ok put it back u dont know what sort of frog it is (terrestrial semi aquatic aquatic or tree) so u dont know what kind of care it needs some species of frog can live up to 20 years but my guess it this one has a week 2 at best since well over 50% of wild caught frogs die withing the first month many other die due to stress and bad living conditions
u want a frog do your research then get one from the pet store
im not positive how to take care of a frog..
But..
Im guessing you can get one of those cages like a snake cage and get some kindof soil and plant grass in it and set it by a window and make sure the sun get to it and stuff like that and then catch flys or something and get like a tiny bowl of water....?
i dont know if thats right though.

You cant take care of it. It will die because it wasnt born in captivity so it doesnt know how to deal with it and the stress alone and fear of being locked up will scare it to death. I tried when I was a little kid to take in baby frogs all the time and they always died. You should just respect it and let it go free.
edit: I bet I am getting thumbs down, but I want you to extend this question so people can continue answering for another 5 days or whatever. Come back and let us know how he is doing in a week from now, I bet he will be dead.
if you have a tank, put it in that, if not, a large box or toat. you can feed it insects, like crickets. but you might wanna let it back in the wild..it could have parasites.
Go to the pet store. By a small tank and frog pellets. The tank should have dry space and wet space, since frogs are amphibious.
I think it's too small to make a good pet. Find a bigger one.
go ask your pet store

How do you get fingernail polish off of hardwood floors (without stripping them)?
This is going to sound crazy but it worked for me. I dabbed on a little clear nail polish on top of the nail polish on the floor and it wiped right off.
Once I used Liquid Gold Furniture Polish on oil based enamel and it removed it with no effort and did not ruin the finish on my wood floor. How do you get fingernail polish off of hardwood floors (without stripping them)?
get some tissue or cotton wool and put a tiny bit of nail varnish remover on it and only wipe over the nail polish stain it worked on my floor :)How do you get fingernail polish off of hardwood floors (without stripping them)?

use non -acetone nail polish remover. and use q-tips. work small areas at a time. then afterwards, rinse, and use some types of wood conditioner. depending on type of flooring...
if the boards had prior varnish...
if you have heard of a wood working scraper (not the kind that is used on windows) then use this to scrape the POLISH OFF BUT NOT TOO DEEP so you dont take the varnish off. THIS IS THE BEST WAY
http://www.woodworkweb.com/Using-Wood-Sc鈥?/a>
you can make a scraper out of any hardened steel sheet (an old wood saw can be used as a scraper if you file the blunt edge)
or if you dont have a scraper get a sharp blade and cut layers off the top slowly until it's level with the rest of the floor and then polish with a car cut and polish paste.
or, sand it off using the same careful patience not to go too far into the old varnish.
freeze it

Does anyone know anything about fingernail health?
My fingernails are not terribly discolored or anyting, but they have pretty deep ridges running from cuticle to tip on them. Does anyone know what causes this, and even better, how to resolve it?
Thanks!Does anyone know anything about fingernail health?
Source: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/nails/A鈥?/a>
Vertical nail ridges, which run from the cuticle to the tip of the nail, are fairly common. They don't indicate serious illness and typically increase with age. Although their exact cause isn't known, heredity may play a role.
If your fingernails change color or develop horizontal ridges, see your doctor. These changes may indicate an underlying health problem.

Bate's, a medical book on diagnosis said all this.
Brittle nails signify possible iron deficiency and thyroid problems, impaired kidney function, and circulation problems.
Yellow nails can indicate internal disorders long before other symptoms appear. Some of these are problems with the lymphatic system, respiratory disorders, diabetes, and liver disorders.
Nails that chip, peel, crack, or break easily show a nutritional deficiency and insufficient hydrochloric acid and protein. Minerals are also needed.
Brittle, soft, shiny nails without a moon may indicate an overactive thyroid.
White lines across the nail may indicate a liver disease.
White lines (longitudinal?) show possible heart disease, high fever, or arsenic poisoning.
Nails separated from the nail bed may signify a thyroid disorder.
Nails raised at the base (';clubbing';) with small white ends show a respiratory disorder such as emphysema or chronic bronchitis. (';Clubbing'; with lung disorders is one condition of the nails that is recognized by Standard Medicine.)
Ridges can signify a possible infection such as the flu.
Downward curved nail ends may denote heart, liver, or respiratory problems.
Ridges running up and down the nails indicate a tendency to develop arthritis.
Lack of vitamin A and calcium causes dryness and brittleness.
Vitamin B deficiency causes fragility, with horizontal and vertical ridges.
Insufficient intake of vitamin B12 leads to excessive dryness, very rounded and curved nail ends, and darkened nails.
White bands can indicate protein deficiency.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!Does anyone know anything about fingernail health?
A naturopathic doctor can probably isolate what's causing your mail ridges.
I do know that I have been taking large amounts of zinc for another reason and the ridges on my nails have disappeared over the past year.
It sounds like you may have a nail fungus. There are over the counter products to treat this ... however your doctor can supply you with a good cream to treat this faster.

I was born with small, ugly-shaped fingernails. Is there a permanent way of changing my fingernail shape?
I think the main problem is the skin on my fingers grow too far up and covers most of the the nail. I don't have that 'halfmoon' look, that most people have. If i soften the cuticle and pull it down i can see the halfmoon, but it's very far down under the skin. I did try cutting the skin back once but it wasn't a good idea and left my fingers very sore. Even then, i still couldn't cut it down to the halfmoon. I don't want fake nails, besides my natural nails are probably are too small for the fake ones to fix onto. What can i do? I am so self-conscious of them. I just want normal looking nails!I was born with small, ugly-shaped fingernails. Is there a permanent way of changing my fingernail shape?
basically your cuticles are obviously very overgrown, you will need to have a FULL manicure every couple of weeks to get them softened, pushed back and cut off the excess skin until they start looking neater. then you will need to have one every 4-6 weeks just to keep them tidy and stop them from overgrowing again. some peoples cuticles grow exceptionally fast whereas others dont really grow at all. they just need some TLC, then your problem will be sorted!
oh, and dont try doing it yourself!, if you dont know what youre doing you may end up damaging them further! its always best to go to a professional, after all thats what we trained for!I was born with small, ugly-shaped fingernails. Is there a permanent way of changing my fingernail shape?
I dont think the problem is your nails hun, even though you dont like them, you are being too self concious, and in a word, a little vain. You surely must have bigger problems, like your self esteem maybe? Is a whole long question on your nails really necessary??
honestly i have the same problem and am just waiting for my nailvarnish to dry after in-filling my acylic nails - doesn't do my nails good to wear them all the time but i love the way they look compared to my natural nails. i have to buy extra small nail tips but it's not a big deal. i massage cuticle oil into my nails every day whether i am wearing acylics or not - seems to help. i think that my natural nails looked at their best when i was buffing them twice a week. sorry you have similar problem hunny but nice to know i'm not alone xx
Everybody's nails are different. You say you don't have the halfmoon (lanule) and you make it sound like it's a problem.
If you look at various people's fingernails, you'll notice that not everybody has this halfmoon and you can have gorgeous nails without it.
My advice is to manicure your nails regularly to make the most of what you have. You can buy a cuticle cutter, it's a little instrument designed specifically to cut the overgrown cuticle without actually butchering your nails (you should never use scissors, nail cutters or anything else that is not designed for that purpose). It's a very handy tool but it must still be used with caution as you can cut too much skin with it. Get some cuticle oil (it really helps) and one of these buffers that manucurists use (the ones that have several sides, used to even the nail, buff it, shine it etc)...
Also, have a look at this link, it may put your mind at ease when it comes to your lanulae: http://www.sdreader.com/php/ma_show.php?id=1009
If it is really bothering you go see a doctor and emphasise how it is affecting your life, if you can convince him he'll get them seen to.

I'm wondering if fingernail psoriasis is inherited? and if so what age will it start to show?
My daughter has severe psoriasis on her hands and feet. I do not have psoriasis, my mother does not have psoriasis, but my grandmother does. She is the only one in my whole family, besides my daughter, who has it. Very good question! My daughter's skin condition did not show until about 2 or 3 years ago. She is now 17. There is no proven cure for psoriasis, so I guess you can say that scientist may have not figured out what causes it. Some research shows it is inherited while others are leaning towards the immune system. Who knows? Hope this helps!!

Hi,
Why did you want to suffer for so many years? What country are you in? I guess if you are in the United States or other European countries, then the doctors have not heard of the answer to eczema.
Eczema / psoriasis is sometimes caused by eating things like shellfish, or sometimes caused by stress.
Here is how they treat eczema in Japan. It really works, I have seen two people improve his skin condition too.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwxmjd8Ck鈥?/a>
You can get the water for free. Place a wanted add in Craigslist for 8.5 PH drinking water. Someone might answer the add, and be able to provide the 8.5 PH water and the 2.5 PH water to treat the skin.
Good Luck!

I can stick my fingernail between my filling and tooth?
Now freaks me out to bits!I can stick my fingernail between my filling and tooth?
You gotta git that fixed! If you live near Mexico, the dentists there do it for $35, if you tell them that's all you have.
If your filling was quicksilver before, you might want to get a white composite one. Or if it was white before, you may want to switch to quicksilver. Because whatever was in there before, wasn't working. The quicksilver is worse for your health usually, but some people are fine with it.I can stick my fingernail between my filling and tooth?
If u said that u can stick ur finger between them then u have a gap between them u have to replace ur filling go to the same dentist
This may cause to u recurrent caries or pain during drinking or eating
so replace it as soon as possible
it could be only expose margin so u need also to go to the dentist in this case he gonna remove this exposed margin
i have the same problem mine was pulled out by walnuts i was eating as far as i know the only answer and your only choice is to go to your dentist and have them drill and fill.

Because whatever was in there before, wasn't working. The quicksilver is worse for your health usually, but some people are fine with it.I can stick my fingernail between my filling and tooth?

It will come off eventually on its own. You could try diluting the nail polish remover with something. Maybe metho. Smells but shouldn't burn.
try mild soap and warm water with a washcloth it should get soft and peel or roll right off.

Dunno. Maybe he's using it to apply accupuncture?
(of course if he does you die from infection)
I've seen other people with the same long fingernail and I think it's to snort drugs. I asked a friend who has one and he says it's used as his toothpick, his nose cleaner and for sexual pleasure with his wife. Now what do you think of that one?

Could i get septicemia from an infection around my fingernail?
There is an area beside the fingernail that is green and swollenCould i get septicemia from an infection around my fingernail?
Yes you can. A friend recently got an infection from improperly cleaned tools at a nail salon, and was septic when she finally went to the doctor. Required hospitalization and IV antibiotics.
Go to the ER and have it treated before you get to that point. They will prescribe either topical or oral antibiotics to treat the infection. The may remove the nail as well. In my friend's case, the infection grew under the nail, which is why she did not realize how serious it was.Could i get septicemia from an infection around my fingernail?
Septicemia can potentially develop from any infection that spreads beneath the skin. If the infection is near the surface, it will probably pop open at some point and drain. You could wait a day or two and see what happens or go to the doc an get an antibiotic just to be safe. Even if you developed septicemia, it would take several days or more for it to progress beyond your finger, and you would see an obvious progression of red swelling along your finger that would alert you of a problem.detox cleansing

Can you cut a dog's nails with regular fingernail clippers?
I want to clip my dog's nails so she can stop cutting meCan you cut a dog's nails with regular fingernail clippers?
No, their nails are way to hard and the opening is not large enough to accommodate the dog's nail. Buy some clippers that are made for dogs or get a dremel. you can buy either from a pet supply store or online. Can you cut a dog's nails with regular fingernail clippers?
no you might hurt the dog and try using softpaws
you probley can depeands on the thickness but u can also go to a pet store and buy clippers for no more than 7 dollars
No - a dog's nails are totally differently shaped. You need to get yourself some good dog nail clippers and regularly clip your dog's nails. If you don't know how, let a vet tech at your vet office show you the first time - you need to be careful not to cut the quick.
Uh, no.
And FYI, clipping them only makes them sharper. If you want her nails to stop cutting you then after you trim them (with a nail trimmer made for dogs) take her for long walks on a sidewalk. Her nails will file themselves down to a not-so-sharp tip.
You can but I would suggest using big ones! If the clippers are to small you could mess up and accidentally hurt the dog...Its best to just use dog clippers.
No. Fingernail clippers are designed for a flat nail. A dogs nail is round and requires a round clipper. They can be picked up at K-Mart, Wal-Mart, or any pet store.
a pair of dog clipper like say wal-mart are under 5 dollars... they would be the best way to go...using human finger nail clippers.
could split the dogs nail and hurt the dog..or tear it...
Our kids show dogs in 4-h and they need their nails trimmed on a regular bases and we use dog clippers..they are cheap...easy to use..and they don't hurt the dog..
Go to the pet store and buy a pair of dog nail clippers. Human ones were not made or designed for dog nails. If you don't want to do that, spend the money and take her to the vet and get them to do it for you.
